We have some amazing students and teachers working diligently in our Sunday morning
and Wednesday evening Bible classes. The dedication of our teachers is truly commendable, some
of them having taught for many years. It is not easy to prepare class lessons week after week, to
arrive early at the church building, decorate or arrange the classroom, be ready to greet your
students, and maintain a positive outlook and example for them. We commend our teachers, and
encourage all of our members to become teachers. If you can’t teach right now, perhaps you can
assist a teacher or consider other ways of supporting the Bible school program.
Our students regularly study God’s word through a planned curriculum, and deserve our
encouragement as they build a solid spiritual foundation for their lives. This week we highlight
one of our teachers and one of our students. The purpose for doing this is to better acquaint us with
those involved in our Bible school, and to help us give them the support and encouragement they
need. Please take a few moments and read about them, and then speak with them! If you would
like to help with the Bible school program, please speak with Mark Norris, our deacon who assists
with this area of the work.
Our featured Bible Class teacher this issue is Elizabeth Pheasant. Elizabeth teaches the 2
and 3 year old’s, and has taught for seven years. She enjoys reading, and has been a Christian for
16 years. She says the reason she teaches is “it’s fun!” Her favorite Bible passage is Ecclesiastes
5:2, “Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for
God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.”
Our featured Bible class student is Sydney Floyd. Sydney is 17 years old, and a member
of the high school class. Her parents are Chris and Joann Floyd. She enjoys theater, music, and
education. Her favorite Bible story is Enoch, “because he never died, but death did not scare him.”
If you see one of these young ladies, give them a hug and tell them you appreciate their
work in our Bible school program! Parents, if your children are not currently involved in the Bible
school, please consider enrolling them immediately. The spiritual benefits will far outweigh any
effort or inconvenience it may require!
Note: Bible classes for all ages meet Sunday mornings at 9:45, and Wednesday evenings
at 7 o’clock. See the screen announcements for a list of classrooms and classes.
