A Great Opportunity for Area Young People

A Great Opportunity for Area Young People

A great opportunity is coming up for young people with an interest in “matters which really matter.” Friday, October 1, 2021 will feature the Kickoff for a special series of lessons, including a Youth Rally on Saturday, October 2 at the Central Church of Christ, 90 Waverly Ct., Martinsburg, WV 25401. Young people of all ages are invited to both the Kickoff and the Youth Rally. More details are available at the church website: www.ccocwv.org

The Friday Kickoff will feature a period of food and social interaction—a time to meet new friends who are interested in Jesus Christ. And the Youth Rally on Saturday will be a time to get excited and charged for the daily sessions to follow, Sunday through Thursday (Oct. 3-7). Sunday’s sessions will be at the regular service times: 9:45 AM, 10:45 AM and 6:00 PM. Then the lessons on Monday through Thursday will be at 7 o’clock nightly.

The speaker for these sessions is Austin Swinea. Austin and his wife, Rylie, have been working with the Jacksonburg Church of Christ in Florence, AL since March 2020. Austin is a 2016 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Bible with a minor in preaching. He is a 2013 graduate of Mars Hill Bible School in Florence, AL. Austin and Rylie manage and operate the family farm where they handle cattle, goats, and sheep.  Many of you may remember when Austin, along with other students from Freed-Hardeman,  was with us for a door-knocking and evangelism Campaign in March of 2016. He is a remarkably talented young man, and a great speaker.

These days, Christian young people sometimes feel left out or excluded from so much of popular American culture. In a nation quickly moving away from God and his word, the Christian influence is needed now more than ever. And this series will show young people that they are not alone in standing up for Jesus Christ!

The lessons through the week will focus on young people of the Bible, who lived for God even in times of great stress and uncertainty. Your face will be enriched through a study of their lives, as we look together into biblical principles for courageous and godly living.

This event also features another special opportunity. Austin and several others will be answering your Bible questions, and providing practical tips on how to live the Christian life in today’s world.           And you will find his lessons and comments very helpful and timely, especially coming from a young gospel preacher and student of God’s word.

Plan now to be with us October 1-7. Whether you usually attend the Central Church of Christ or not, bring your friends and be prepared for a time of great excitement, fun and faith building together!
